Jafza, Dubai Police sign Collaboration Agreement

Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) and Dubai Police have signed a Collaboration Agreement under which the latter will provide police services to Jafza customers at the Jafza administration building.

The agreement was signed by HE Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World and Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and Major General Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police at the Jafza Headquarters.

HE Bin Sulayem praised HE Major Mattar for the leading role played by the Dubai Police in the development of their services and their cooperation with government entities to achieve the desired goals and common interests.

HE Bin Sulayem said, “We have been working in close coordination with Dubai Police since quite some time, but now we decided at this stage to put it in a legal framework, by establishing a new phase of cooperation and coordination between the two entities. We are moving in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to provide an integrated and secure business environment for investors, entrepreneurs and corporates while also offering government services to ensure convenience of business.”

He added, “With this agreement, I envision our partnership to develop and enhance our opportunities for progress. I’m confident that our collaboration will be an important factor in the development process of Dubai’s economy and the UAE, in general.”

HE Major General Al Mazeina said, “The agreement will contribute to the provision of security requirements for Jebel Ali Free Zone through Jebel Ali police station and the office within Jafza. It will serve a large segment of investors and companies in the free zone so that everyone exercises their activities in commercial and advanced, urban atmosphere and keep pace with the advanced boom in the Emirate of Dubai.”

He added, “The services that will be provided by Dubai Police in the region will contribute to the prosperity and growth of trade. Dubai Police supports everything that contributes to the development of Dubai, and the UAE in general. We have strong and close relations with all partners, and we will support the new office in Jafza that will provide a range of services and meet everyone’s needs and an enhanced sense of security and tranquility, given their impact on economy and development.

Dubai Police’s dedicated counter within the Free Zone will provide services to Jafza customers including good conduct certificates, receipt of findings, query request, payment of traffic fines, requesting reservation/decoding vehicle, providing reports in various cases, requesting for a work permit and many others.

Following the signing, Jafza officials provided a short presentation to the Dubai Police delegation led by HE General Mattar, on the achievements of the Free Zone and its leading role in facilitating the movement of trade in the region. It also highlighted Jafza’s role in supporting the national economy due its trade and logistical activities.

The delegation, along with HE Bin Sulayem, toured the Jafza administration facility wherein a brief, on the services offered to customers, was provided to the visitors. The delegation, along with HE Bin Sulayem, also visited the various facilities in Jafza, the Jebel Ali Port and the Container Terminal.

The ceremony was also attended by senior management of Jafza — Ibrahim Mohamed Aljanahi, Deputy CEO and Chief Commercial Officer, Talal Al Hashimi, Chief Operation Officer, Asim Al Abbasi, Chief Financial Officer and Adel Bin Turkeya, Chief Resources Officer, Colonel Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al Mulla Director of total quality, Colonel Dr Adel Al Suwaidi, Director of Jebel Ali Police Station.

Various government agencies are based in Jafza’s Customer Service Centre, such as the Emirates Identity Authority, Dubai Health Authority Etisalat, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai and Dubai Civil Defence to improve the quality of services to the public.
