Our History
Iconic moments in the history of Jebel Ali Free Zone
The birth of Jafza with land and light industrial units
With the opening of the Jebel Ali Port in 1979, the vision of Jafza was set in motion and led to the creation of a free economic trade zone under the decree of the Ruler of Dubai, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Creation of low rise offices
With the growing need for businesses to have office spaces in 1986, Jafza created its first set of office buildings in the free zone.
Jafza creates onsite residence project
With industries booming in Jafza, the need to have accommodation for the workforce promoted Jafza to create the onsite residence project for Jafza registered businesses.
Creation of mid rise standard office buildings
Mid rize office buildings were set up in Jafza to support businesses registered in the free zone to lease office spaces.
Creation of a systematic process for product development
Jafza implemented the process of a unique system of product management where each facility provided combined with services formed a unique product offered to clients and prospects.
Complete integration with government services
In 2007, Jafza integrated government services and the ability for Jafza businesses and employees to avail services from Dubai Government Departments within the free zone.

In 2008, Jafza inaugurated Jafza Views. Jafza View 18 & 19 are a 29-story high-rise buildings in Dubai providing office space for businesses registered in Jafza.

Creation of showrooms and warehouses
The Jafza Showrooms are retail spaces located on the opposite side of Gate 4 after Sheikh Zayed Road. These retail units are fitted with office and light industrial warehouse space.
Launching Custom Development Solutions
Jafza launched the Customised Development service. This service offering would be a turnkey development product that would include extensive services ranging from network planning, site selection, design and project management to development and integration of customer-specific infrastructure/superstructure.
